What stood out to me...
"Get wisdom! Get understanding... wisdom is the principal thing Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you she will bring you honour, when you embrace her. She will place on your head an ornament of grace A crown of glory will she deliver you...

If chapter 1 is the intro to Proverbs, then chapter 4 can certainly be described as the heartbeat of the Book of Proverbs.
"Get wisdom!" Solomon screams to anyone who would listen, "Get understanding... wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom, and in all your getting, get understanding!" He couldn't have said it better, he couldn't have made it more plain than that. Wisdom is a central part of life, how can you ever hope to gain ANYTHING out of life, enjoy it--and then keep it--without it? Anything that you ever got out of life that was precious to you, you kept it as long as you used wisdom, and when you didn't use wisdom, you lost it.
Solomon, the wisest man that ever walked the face of the earth, describes wisdom and understanding as a "her". Listen to what he says about understanding: "exalt her, and she will promote you, she will bring you honor when you embrace her..." If you exalt her, Solomon urges, she will promote you. When I think about someone being promoted, I think about what Don King did for Mike Tyson. Don King was one of the most prolific professional boxing promoters ever. He would sell Mike Tyson to a crowd like nothing you've ever heard before--and everybody would eat it up! He'd say something like, "he's the fastest, the toughest, the hardest--can't no body whoop him...he's iron Mike Tyson!" Don King knew how to promote Mike Tyson to ANY crowd. And Solomon said if you would exalt wisdom and understanding, this is what she would do for you. Exalt her, and she will promote you. And when you think about it, how true is that? You can spot the wise one out of ANY group...just like that! Why is that? Its because wisdom is promoting them. Those who value wisdom, you can always tell who they are. You'll be on a job interview, and wisdom will speak to the employer and be like, "yeah, pick this one... yeah, that's the one right there."
That's what stood out to me...
