Hello, friends and family my name is Cyrus Ellis and have been incarcerated for a significant amount of time. and I just want to share with you my personal experience with the pandemic. (covid-19)
at first it was a scare on top of a lot of conspiracy's. the mask were something I used at work. until our boss told us that there were no more mask, do to the demand because of the virus. then we were given hand made mask that were made out of cloth where i worked. we were mandated to wear our mask while at work or get sent back to inmates unit/ cell. at this time guys i worked with and myself started see how serious it was and began to adjust and pay attention . we all sat around every morning at break time and talked about the news and what was goin on. and what would we do if the virus came into the prison. and a lot of us was honestly scared. because in here something like that will spread like a wild fire and a lot of people will probably die.
so I notice lots of fear and anxiety- now a year later here we are in cohort movement with inmates coming up positive. we are losing close fellowship with friends and family now just like we hear on the news, its challenging right now, but with resilience and faith in God I am confident that we will bounce back.
my prayers are with you all. please stay diligent in your faith and believe that God cares and will see us through this.
happy holidays!
Sincerely yours, Cyrus Ellis.
